Editorial policy
Spirited Film Culture aims to make clear, useful writing about films and the ideas they spark. We distinguish interpretation from fact and take responsibility for correcting the record.
Accuracy and context
We check factual details against suitable source material before publication and make clear when a point is an interpretation, opinion or creative suggestion. We avoid presenting speculation as fact and give readers enough context to understand the subject being discussed.
Editorial independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers, not because a film, product or organisation has a commercial relationship with us. A partnership does not guarantee coverage, favourable treatment or control over editorial conclusions.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us with the article and the detail you believe needs attention. We review correction requests, update verified mistakes and clarify significant changes in the affected piece.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly identified where it appears. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; we label them when used and do not present them as documentary photographs.
A film can keep the mind moving
We look beyond whether a film is good or bad, asking what it invites us to notice, imagine or discuss. The aim is to make room for curiosity, not homework.
