Write for us
We welcome pitches that explore how films can prompt creative thinking, thoughtful conversation or satisfying viewing rituals beyond the screen.
What makes a good pitch
Send a focused idea with a working title, the central question or activity, the intended reader and a brief explanation of what makes it distinct. A useful pitch offers a clear takeaway without requiring special equipment, expert knowledge or an elaborate schedule.
The kinds of work we welcome
We consider essays, practical prompts, conversation formats, film-club ideas and pieces about the habits surrounding movie-going and home viewing. We value fresh angles, precise language and respect for different tastes and ways of watching.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please describe the proposed piece rather than sending a complete article unless we have requested one. We cannot promise publication, and we will not consider material that invents facts or disguises promotion as independent writing.
A film can keep the mind moving
We look beyond whether a film is good or bad, asking what it invites us to notice, imagine or discuss. The aim is to make room for curiosity, not homework.
